Don't Waste 20,000 Tokens on Ghost Blooks: How to Read Active vs Event vs Unreleased Status
The Reddit Post That Made My Heart Break
A few months ago, a player emailed me a screenshot of their account history. They had saved 18,500 tokens over nearly three months, dumped every single token into the Aquatic Pack, and sent me a furious message asking if my calculator was broken because they didn't pull the Rainbow Narwhal.
I had to break the terrible news to them: The Rainbow Narwhal is an unreleased asset. It is sitting in Blooket's client sprite sheet, but the game developers never turned on its drop rate in the server's probability tables. It literally has a 0.00% drop rate. That player flushed 18,500 tokens down the drain chasing an asset that cannot drop.
That exact disaster made me implement our real-time Availability Status Badges across every blook on this website. Here is how to read those badges so you never make that mistake.
The 4 Core Status Badges and What They Mean
| Status Badge | How It's Obtained | Can You Pull It from a Pack? | Well-Known Examples | Your Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Available | Permanent market pack drop or starter | YES (Active RNG) | King, Mega Bot, Rainbow Panda, Space Astronauts | Safe to budget tokens and pull. |
| Event Only | Global tournament prize or contest award | NO (Never in packs) | Phantom King, Wise Owl, Agent Owl, Master Elf | DO NOT spend tokens. Win sanctioned events. |
| Seasonal Active | Calendar-locked box (Halloween, Winter) | CONDITIONAL (Calendar) | Spooky Mummy (Oct only), Frost Wreath (Dec only) | Only open during active calendar window. |
| Unreleased | Sprite datamined in code, but drop rate = null | NO (Zero Probability) | Rainbow Narwhal, Lemon Crab, Poison Dart Frog | Never spend tokens. Pure archival file. |
The Datamined Asset Mirage
Data miners frequently inspect Blooket's frontend code and publish images of new icons to Twitter, TikTok, and wikis. When casual players see a cool sprite like the Lemon Crab, they assume it belongs to the Aquatic Pack and start dumping their savings.
On this simulator, we verify the backend response structure. If an asset has a drop probability of null or does not appear in the active pack API, we tag it as Unreleased. If you see that red badge on any blook page on our site, do not spend a single token on market packs.
My 3-Step Pre-Opening Checklist
- Check the Acquisition Type: On any blook detail page, look at the Acquisition Model card. If it does not explicitly say "Probability drop from pack openings", you cannot pull it.
- Verify the Live Market Store: For seasonal packs (Spooky, Blizzard), physically log into Blooket and make sure the pack icon is visible in the shop before you plan your session.
- Check the Day of the Week: If hunting Space Astronauts, check our UTC rotation table. Never hunt an Astronaut on its off-day.
